Classes
100 Hour Primary Training
This course will give you the tools and confidence as a permanent makeup artist while meeting all AAM requirements for certification.
This course will provide thorough preparation and knowledge to perform Permanent makeup procedures by providing hands on training for Permanent Makeup skills as prescribed by the New York State. In this class, you will learn how to properly complete the procedures of Brows, Lips, and eyeliner tattooing.
After Completion:
You will receive a 100 Hour Primary Training Certificate recognized by the American Academy of Micropigmentation (AAM). This will help strengthen your professional credibility and set you apart as an expert in the field.
100 Hour Customized Training
This course will give you the knowledge, skill, and confidence to become a certified permanent makeup artist.
The 100 Hour Customized Primary Training is an AAM-accredited course that combines home study, classroom learning, and personalized hands-on experience. Each training is private 1:1, designed to match your learning style and professional goals while meeting all AAM requirements for certification.
In this course, you will learn how to perform:
- Eyebrow Tattooing
- Eyeliner Tattooing
- Lip Tattooing
- Microblading
- Areola and Paramedical Tattooing
- Scalp Micropigmentation
After Completion:
You will receive a 100 Hour Customized Primary Training Certificate recognized by the American Academy of Micropigmentation (AAM). This will help strengthen your professional credibility and set you apart as an expert in the field.
Advanced Permanent Makeup Class

This Advanced PMU Training is designed for certified technicians ready to refine their skills, expand their expertise, and elevate their permanent makeup career.
Our approved American Academy of Micropigmentation (AAM) program offers both private 1:1 and 2:1 small group instruction, allowing you to receive personalized attention and mentorship tailored to your goals. This 100-hour course includes home study, classroom learning, and hands-on training with real models to ensure you leave confident and career-ready.

Specially Tailored Curriculum for New Jersey Students
This training program iis designed specifically to meet all New Jersey state requirements for Permanent Makeup training. You’ll graduate with everything you need, no paid apprenticeships required, it’s all included!
This 100-hour AAM-approved program combines home study, classroom instruction, and hands-on training to prepare you for real-world success as a certified Permanent Makeup Artist.
After Completion:
You will receive a training certificate approved by the American Academy of Micropigmentation (AAM), meeting New Jersey’s full licensing standards.
Pre-Class
It is required that you must obtain the Bloodborne Pathogen Certificate before attending the class and working on a live model. After you register, we will email you the class information as well as the link to take Bloodborne Pathogen training and obtain BBP certificate. For California and Florida, you must apply for a temporary tattoo license in order to work on a live model in our class. After you register for our class, we will email you the application and direction on how to apply.
Post-Class
After our three-day in-person training, you will have homework assignments. You must submit your homeworks for critique and feedback. Once your strokes and patterns on fake skins approved, you can move on to working on your own live models. After your work is up to beauty standards and all techniques are applied, you will have finished the course and your Certificate of Completion will be mailed to you.
Hands-On
Each student will get to work on a live model on day three. You will be required to bring your own live model to work with on Day 3. If you can’t find one, we will help to find you a model, but it’s not guaranteed. We also encourage our students to be a live model so you can share with your clients the experience of microblading treatment and healing process. Microblading instruction and procedure practice with live models are all under the supervision of a qualified instructor.
With our lifetime support, if after the first class you’re still not confident and want to perfect your strokes further, you are welcome to attend the next class working on your strokes or working on your own live model under supervision of AMA instructor. We ask that you let us know ahead of time that you will attend and will bring a live model. You can work on your own live model on day 1 or 2; day 3 is for new students only.

Hi I’m Cariangel
Hi, I’m Cariangel, and I’m so glad you’re here. 💗
I’ve been in the beauty and tattooing world for over 30 years, and every part of my journey has led me to this: helping others heal through the art of tattooing.
I started as a body art tattooist back in 1990, and by 2005 I found my true passion in areola tattooing and medical micropigmentation. Over the years, I’ve worked closely with reconstructive surgeons throughout the tri-state area, helping breast cancer survivors feel whole again through realistic 3D areola tattoos.
In 2011, I opened Cariangel’s Cosmetic and Medical Spa, and it became the place where my love for beauty, compassion, and artistry all came together. I wanted to create a space where women could not only look beautiful but feel restored inside and out.
Over time, I realized my work wasn’t just about the art itself, it was about sharing it. I wanted to teach others how to use tattooing as a way to restore confidence and dignity. That’s why I founded Cariangel’s Academy of Micropigmentation here in New York.
As a licensed esthetician, tattoo artist, skincare specialist, and AAM Platinum Certified Instructor, I’ve trained countless students in areola tattoo training, paramedical tattoo training, and permanent makeup, helping them master the technical skills while never losing sight of the compassion behind the work.
If you’re new to tattooing or paramedical artistry, I know it can feel intimidating, but please don’t let that stop you. You don’t need to have years of experience to make a difference. What matters most is your heart, your dedication, and your willingness to learn. I’ll be with you every step of the way, supporting you long after you complete your certification.

FAQs
Cariangel’s Academy of Micropigmentation offers 100 Hour Primary Training, 100 Hour Customized Training, Advanced Permanent Makeup Class, and Specially Tailored Curriculum for New Jersey Students. Each course is designed for hands-on, personalized learning and tailored to the student’s experience level.
Training lengths vary depending on the program. Most advanced trainings are 2–3 days in person, with a Zoom session held one week prior to review theory, color science, and client preparation.
Yes. Before attending your in-person training, you must:
- Attend an evening Zoom session (date and time provided after registration).
- Complete a Bloodborne Pathogen Certification (recommended through ourtrainingplace.com).
During class, students have access to professional micropigmentation machines (such as Xion, Cheyenne, Bellar, Flux S, and Mini Flux S) and Beau Cosmetic Pigments.
Please note: Training kits are not included unless otherwise stated.
Tuition varies by program. A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your spot, with the remaining balance due one week prior to your Zoom class unless paid in full upfront.
Exact pricing and payment details will be outlined in your customized training agreement.
All students work on live models during training. Model count varies by course type and duration, but every student is guaranteed at least two live models for hands-on experience.
As a one-on-one training, Cariangel’s will make every effort to provide a third model, though this is not guaranteed.
If a model cancels, Cariangel’s will reschedule the procedure when possible.
If a cancellation occurs last-minute, the model may need to be completed at a later time within your training period.
We recommend bringing:
- A camera (for before & after photos)
- Notebook, pen, and pencil for notes
- Scrubs (for hands-on training days)
Yes. Light breakfast and lunch are provided on training days.
Training dates are non-transferable without prior written approval from Cariangel’s Academy.
Please review your signed agreement for rescheduling terms.
Each state or region has its own licensing, apprenticeship, insurance, and regulatory requirements for permanent makeup artists. It is the student’s responsibility to research and comply with all local laws before practicing professionally.
By enrolling, you acknowledge that Cariangel’s Academy, instructors, and staff are not liable for any injury, damage, or outcome resulting from training or procedures performed during or after the course.
